|Description:||Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, performs custodial duties in the maintenance of public buildings.|
|Duties:||The essential functions of this position are:|
-Check all outside doors at the beginning of each shift.
-Clean offices and public areas everyday as needed.
-Clean glass as needed, and clean all wood doors once or twice a year with lemon-oil polish.
-Clean and arrange storage rooms.
-Put out garbage cans as required.
-Scrub floors as needed; strip and wax floors at least once each year or as needed (two to three coats of wax).
-Clean all windows inside and out as needed.
-Wipe and clean all paneling with lemon oil once each year.
-Set up rooms for various meetings by arranging furniture as needed and setting up needed audio-visual equipment.
-Perform lighting maintenance and operates security systems.
-Inform Facilities manager when supplies are needed.
-Help with maintenance of buildings under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
-Maintain necessary certifications.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
|Qualifications:||Must possess a valid Utah driver License. Must be 18 or older. Prior custodial experience helpful, but not required.|
Must have knowledge of and be able to maintain mechanical systems. Must work well with the public and in teams. Must be able to work with heating and cooling systems and lighting and security systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Knowledge of floor maintenance and the ability to operate and maintain floor maintenance machinery such as vacuum, floor polisher, etc. Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) reports.
Ability perform moderately strenuous work. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, crawl, lift and perform all types of physical labor.
