Social Media/Web Technician - Part-time

Description:Under the direction of the Manager of Administrative Services, performs a variety of advanced technical duties as needed to assure the effective and efficient operation of city website and web applications.
Duties:Manages and directs Springville City websites.

Uses creativity to encourage interest and readership. May travel to points of interest within the city.

Designs and builds the city website; generates graphical elements; organizes content into logical groupings; designs user interface; assists content providers in publishing information; updates site content.

Monitors site for compliance with Springville City policies; optimizes graphics for web; assists city personnel with content updates; provides tools for site management.

Assists with city social media sites.

Serves as software trainer; reviews web software for functional use; identifies system needs and upgrades; manages live databases; provides ongoing support.

Should be familiar with Word Press, Word, and Excel programs.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Must have an Associate degree or higher from an accredited school. Specific experience in web servers and web design and programming preferred. Must have a valid Utah Drivers License.
An equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must have considerable knowledge of web site design, graphic design, user interface, concepts, content organization, security, and web server hardware and software. Must have the ability to design, build, and maintain various websites and social media.

Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to develop an effective working relationship with department heads, employees, and the public.

Must possess a valid Utah Driverís License. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time. This job requires a significant amount of time at a computer screen and using a keyboard for data entry. May occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
